David Boulton, a learning-activist, technologist, author, and public speaker, will be presenting his platform for ‘turning up the learning’ at this business leaders invitational lunch, hosted by the Reading By 8 Project in Greenville, SC. (http://ready4reading.org/reading-by-8)

Mr. Boulton is the president of Learning Stewards, a non-profit organization, and is the director of the Children of the Code Project. He is well-known by educators for his work on the societal and emotional effects of learning difficulties.

In presentations and discussions, Mr. Boulton will draw on The New Science of Learning public television special and his work on the Children of the Code Project to connect the dots between ‘turning up the learning’ and improving the health and development of individuals, families, communities, schools, businesses, workforces, and our overall economy.

“Learning and innovation go hand in hand. The arrogance of success is to think that what you did yesterday will be sufficient for tomorrow.”
William Pollard, Chairman of the Board of The ServiceMaster Company

The most important characteristic of an effective leader is his or her ability to learn. The next most important characteristic is a leader’s ability to guide the learning of the people and systems he or she is leading. In this presentation Mr. Boulton will share new and empowering ways to think about and improve your learning and, consequently, your effectiveness as a leader.
